1. Drawing Under the Influence Event (by AIGA Honolulu)
This is a pictionary competition which is a social event with the professionals. Early bird sign-up deadline is TODAY. Must sign up in teams of 4, cost for early bird registration is $40 (breaks down to $10/person) and includes heavy pupus and a t-shirt. If you need help putting together a team, let me know IMMEDIATELY. Find out more and register at honolulu.aiga.org

2. HI-5 Recylcing competition (by AIGA UHM Student Group)
During the week of November 27- Dec 1, 2006 we will be holding a recycling competition to raise funds for the group. Bring in your WASHED recyclables in bags with your name on them. Bring them to any officer (Mark Guillermo, Terri Wada, Laura Artita, Ryan Yamamoto, or myself) so that we can officially record your recyclables. The person who brings in the most recyclables will receive a prize. We are trying to get Aaron Lee to have the Design Lab donate a prize that will be a certain dollar amount that can be used towards the cost of printing in the lab.

3. Design Potluck (by AIGA UHM Student Group)
We will be having a design potluck on the weekend after the last day of finals. It will be a lunch potluck to be held at Magic Island or Ala Moana Beach Park.

Please RSVP to an officer with your date preference (Sat, Dec 16 --OR-- Sun, Dec 17) by Friday, December 1

I know that some of you will be leaving the islands and will not be able to make it, but don't worry, we're going to try to have another one at the beginning of the Spring semester as a Welcome Back kind of deal.

4. Print Sale (by AIGA UHM Student Group)
To raise funds for the group, we will be holding a print sale in which you students have the option to design a poster which will be editioned (so that only a limited amount will be produced and sold) and put up for sale in the art building in the Spring semester. We will be coming up with a theme and providing you all with some info to start designing them over the break so that we can go ahead and sell them in the Spring. Just giving you all a heads up on this, so keep an eye out for this info.
